Allegro Acoustics was commissioned by UCD Student Services to carry out an acoustic review of the Astra Hall and provide design recommendations to adapt this space to be used for music recital. The 600 seat auditorium was originally designed primarily for public speaking and oratory. The client preference was to use this space for classical music recital going forward. Allegro Acoustics completed acoustic testing of the auditorium followed by the development of an extensive room acoustic model within Odeon Auditorium. Detailed design recommendations were made to the client to modify the auditorium within its boundaries and provide the reverberant characteristics desirable for classical music recital and performance.
