This involved the preparation of the noise and vibration chapter for the Dowdstown Water Treatment Plant EIS. The plant was proposed in a typically quiet country area and an initial baseline noise survey was carried out at nearby residential receptors. Subsequently, the proposed plant was represented in a computational noise model (CadnaA) and this was used to predict the noise impact on nearby sensitive receptors as a result of the proposed plant. Recommendations were made where necessary for the construction and operational phase of the proposed plant. The EPA and WHO guidelines for noise were referred to among other international standards throughout completion of the noise impact assessment.
The consultant for this project was David Cawley however this may not have been with Allegro Acoustics Ltd.
