David has fifteen years’ experience as an acoustic consultant and designer with significant experience across a broad industry range to include projects in the performing arts, residential, education, healthcare, power generation and manufacturing industries. David is a multi-instrumentalist and regularly applies his experience as a musician, to the design of Performance Spaces by Allegro Acoustics. David is a Chartered Engineer and was one of six finalists for Chartered Engineer of the Year 2012. David has lectured at Trinity College Dublin with the Institute of Acoustics in the specialist areas of Acoustics in Buildings and Noise Control Engineering. David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (NUIG, 2003) and a Master’s Degree in Applied Acoustics (Distinction, 2011) from the University of Surrey, in addition to a Certified Project Management Diploma (IPMI, 2017). David is the current Managing Director at Allegro Acoustics.

Stephen Kearney

Senior Acoustic Consultant

Stephen is a Senior Acoustic Consultant at Allegro Acoustics, where he has developed a track record for delivering effective engineering solutions for a range of acoustics, noise and vibration projects. Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering (Hons) from the National University of Ireland, Galway (2014) and a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control through Trinity College Dublin and the Institute of Acoustics (2016). Stephen has worked as Lead Acoustic Consultant on a range of projects including large office developments, hotels, schools and residential developments. Some of Stephen’s key projects include Bow Lane Hotel, Dublin 2 (300 bed, €50m), Corrib Village Phase 1 Student Accommodation at NUI Galway (430 bed, c€25m) and the 300 Seat Music Performance Auditorium, American and British Academy, Muscat, Oman. Stephen is an avid fan of the outdoors and likes to spend his evenings and weekends mountain biking at the nearby Ticknock, Glencullen and Roundwood downhill mountain biking trails.

Mark O’Sullivan

Mark is an Acoustic Consultant at Allegro Acoustics and has particular experience in building services noise control and architectural acoustic design. Mark holds a Bachelor’s Degree (2015) and a Master’s Degree (2016) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, both from Trinity College Dublin. Mark has also completed the Diploma in Acoustics (Trinity College Dublin & Institute of Acoustics, 2018). Mark has wide ranging experience as an acoustic consultant and designer in a variety of projects in the residential, performing arts, education, power generation and manufacturing industries. Some of Mark’s key previous and current projects include the Oracle Block A fitout, Eastpoint Business Park, Dublin 3, Westwood Student Accommodation, Galway (450bed, c€25m) and Luttrelstown Community College, Clonsilla (€6m). Mark plays the piano and concertina with particular appreciation for traditional Irish music, and has also represented County Meath in Hurling and Football at Senior Intercounty Level.

Irene Sofia Rodriquez

Acoustic Consultant

Irene is an Acoustic Consultant at Allegro Acoustics and has particular experience in musical space design and architectural acoustics. Irene holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2013) and Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Design and Manufacturing (2017), both from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. Her interest in Acoustics is rooted in her musical background as a violin student at the Conservatory of Naples (Italy) and from her passion for music in general. Irene worked with the National Research Council, Naples, Italy where she conducted research on interior noise in vehicles. Some of Irene’s more recent projects include the Australian Embassy, St. Stephen’s Green Dublin 2, Convention Center Dublin (acoustic facility assessment) and the Sherry Fitzgerald Headquarter Office, Sandyford, Dublin 18. Irene loves to travel and she likes to spend her weekends discovering Ireland, especially its coastlines and national parks.

Michael Kelly

Acoustic Consultant

Michael is an Acoustic Consultant at Allegro Acoustics and has particular experience in music technologies and performance space design. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Music, Technology and Innovation from De Montfort University Leicester. Michael plays a diverse range of musical instruments and has performed in multiple venues from Belfast to Stockholm, over the last decade. Through music performance, Michael has a well developed understanding of acoustic design in music performance spaces in addition to substantial experience in the music recording and studio setting. Allegro Acoustics projects which Michael has recently been involved with include Phase 1 Student Accommodation at UCD, the Clayton at Charlemont Hotel and the Shell Bellanaboy Bridge Gas Terminal.
