In response to planning objection on noise grounds, Allegro Acoustics carried out a noise impact assessment for this data centre located on a floating platform at Limerick Dock with planning permission being granted by An Bord Pleanala in September 2019. Allegro Acoustics carried out a detailed baseline noise survey in accordance with ISO1996. Subsequently, Allegro Acoustics developed a 3D computational environmental noise model for the proposed development and concluded mitigation measures appropriate to achieve planning limits in respect of noise. This energy efficient, water cooled floating data centre is one of the first of its kind in Europe.
