Allegro Acoustics has acted as Acoustic Consultant for Tynagh Energy for over a decade to include cyclical occupational and environmental noise monitoring in addition to occasional noise control engineering projects relative to power generation hardware. Allegro Acoustics carried out an in-depth noise control engineering program for this 400MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power generation station in 2016. This involved completing a targeted, manned environmental noise survey, sound power and noise source evaluation on site, and the development of a 3D environmental noise model to represent the power station and surrounding area using SoundPLAN noise modelling software. Allegro Acoustics subsequently concluded specific measures at the power station to maximise noise attenuation of existing systems.
